Rivian's core concept is to "Keep the world adventurous forever." In line with this vision, I worked on the design of an emission-free electric adventure vehicle for the year 2035, incorporating features that cater to the great outdoors. The final outcome of this project was a story-driven presentation of the interface design and usage scenarios, showcasing the vehicle's potential for an adventurous future."
We came up with a series of HMW questions, narrowed them down to five key issues, and brainstormed potential solutions to them.
To bring cohesiveness to our modified features, we utilized a journey map that tied everything together into a complete user experience story. During this process, we meticulously analyzed each interaction detail to ensure optimal user experience and made necessary refinements based on our discussions
Based on the specific user environment in journey map, we designed five main features for the 2035 scenario.
For the vehicle's center control, we carried over the Rivian's original design style, concentrating mainly on adding features such as a windshield display and maps associated with outdoor activities.
In the scenario we designed, the mobile application mainly serves the outdoor community by providing users with information about outdoor activities and connecting them with other outdoor enthusiasts.
The storyboard serves as a cohesive link between the user's interaction with the car and the center screen. It showcases how these interactions are connected and flow together, following the user's journey as mapped out on the travel map.
